BEGINNERS' COURSE IVQ DIPLOMA - LEVEL 2

Course Duration:

52 weeks - 4 days per week at the academy (Thursday is a home study day). 10:00am till 2.00pm or 3.00pm till 7.00pm.

Cost of Course:

€6500 - includes a non-refundable fee of €1500 required at time of registration (at least 2 weeks before the course begins)

The balance of the fees is payable by 12 monthly instalments.

Additional costs will be incurred for basic hairdressing tools and training heads.

Our beginners' course is designed to prepare you for working in a professional salon environment as a junior stylist. The foundation certificate is awarded by City & Guilds.

Course modules:

Mandatory Units:

• Health & Safety
• Working in hairdressing
• Advise and consult
• Shampoo & Conditioning
• Basic cutting techniques
• Style & finish hair using basic techniques
• Basic colouring techniques
• Perming

Optional Units (choice of 2):

• Display stock to promote sales
• Salon Reception Duties
• Monitor and maintain stock levels
• Provide scalp massage
• Hairdressing design skills
• Promote products and services to clients

What does the course cover?

The course modules are delivered by dedicated and qualified IVQ trainers / assessors and will include / combine:

• Formal assessments
• Demonstrations and hands-on workshops
• Theory delivery
• Projects
• Practical workshops
• One-to-one tuition on a weekly basis

What do I need to begin the course?

You will need:

• Basic hairdressing kit - can be purchased from Aztec Hair Academy
• 2 training heads - can be purchased from Aztec Hair Academy
• Live models throughout the course

On successful completion of the course you will receive a recognised City & Guilds IVQ qualification
