BEGINNERS COURSE BTEC DIPLOMA - LEVEL 2

Course Duration:

Full time courses: 50 weeks (we close on Spanish National Fiesta days) - 4 days per week at the Academy ( plus one home study day). 10:00am till 2.00pm or 3.00pm till 7.00pm.

Part time courses available: Level 2 diploma over either 2 or 3 years, so you can work and train at the same time. contact us for more details on part time courses.

over 2 years the course breaks down into 2 days per week for 2 years, days and times to be arranged when you join.

over 3 years the course breaks down into 1st year two days a week (covering theory and practical) 2nd and 3rd year one day a week (covering practical). days and times to be arranged when you join.

Cost of Course:

The cost of the course can be broken down and paid monthly, also spread over longer periods depending on part time or full time hours. please contact us for more details.

Additional costs will be incurred for basic hairdressing tools and training heads.

Our Level 2 course is designed to prepare you for working in a professional salon environment as a improver(junior stylist). The foundation certificate is awarded by Edexcel / BTEC

Mandatory Units:

• Health & Safety
• Create a positive impression
• Advise and consult with Clients
• Shampoo, Condition and Treat Hair&Scalp
• Cut Hair using Basic Techniques
• Style & Finish hair
• Set and Dress Hair
• Change Hair Colour

Optional Units (choice of 2):

• Develop and Maintain Effectiveness at work
• Fulfil Salon Reception Duties
• Plait and Twist Hair
• Perm and Neutralize Hair
• Attach Hair to Enhance a Style
• Promote products and services to clients

What does the course cover?

The course modules are delivered by dedicated and qualified IVQ trainers / assessors and will include / combine:

• Formal assessments
• Demonstrations and hands-on workshops
• Theory delivery
• Projects
• Practical workshops
• One-to-one tuition on a weekly basis

What do I need to begin the course?

You will need:

• Basic hairdressing kit - can be purchased from Aztec Hair Academy
• 2 training heads - can be purchased from Aztec Hair Academy
• Live models throughout the course

On successful completion of the course you will receive an Internationally recognised Edexcel Btec qualification

After School Taster Course - Start date: course in progress, new dates released for next course in the new year. ( phone for information )
After School Taster Course open to 14-16 year olds who would like to try hairdressing as a possible career.The course runs for 5 weeks one day a week for 2 hours (4:30 - 6:30) in the afternoon after school.
